Vindication Swim dives into the extraordinary life of Mercedes Gleitze, who in 1927 became the first British woman to swim the English Channel. The film depicts Mercedes' upstream struggle in overcoming both the cold waters of the English Channel and the oppressive society of 1920s England. However, after a rival comes forward claiming to have accomplished the same feat, Mercedes is forced into battle to retain her record and her legacy.

Great choice of film for our village film night. Fascinating subject filmed locally. Well written and directed by a young local filmmaker. Atmospheric music added drama to the movie. Well worth watching and supporting British films.

Really enjoyable film! Loved the story and learning about the journey of Mercedes and the challenges she had to come through. The film showed rerold the events really well the story and wasn't rushed, the length of the film in my opinion was the perfect length. Wuld highly recommend it! Not to mention my grandad being in it!!
