Viral Beauty is about as modern of a film for the digital age as it can get. I enjoyed how dark the film could get in a matter of seconds; it kept me on my toes.

I was not sure what to expect when I pulled up this movie. I enjoyed it. Biting social commentary about how we view others and the crazy explosion of social media stars and 'influencers'. Casey Killoran does a great job in the lead role of Marsha, our rising social media star. We see the cruelty that exists on social media, leading one to think 'is anyone ever really popular any more'. We see, through humor, the very worst of social media. Well done film.

This is a type of farce and morality tale of the Cinderella story gone digital follower mania cray cray. And commerce through the taste makers through the freakish impersonal new world we live in. It was well directed and acted. It is a dark comedy that is a ballsy wake up call to all of us. Let's go camping and unplug right now!!!! (needless to say it hit me where it was intended to and I feel the need to get all woke).

Main actress is a game talent! The movie is a very acurate depiction of the nonsense and excess of the internet in this case triggered by body shaming and lack of confidence. Of course it's done with a great deal of cynicism and a very dark humour that totally work. The perfect way to have spectators react. A truely original film I deeply recommend.

Viral Beauty is an original movie about love, fame, and social media. It is also a fascinating character study. The film also forces the audience to ask questions themselves about what we value most, fame, wealth, lifestyle, authentic relationships, family, true friendship, honesty etc. The acting is stellar from the entire cast, especially the leads. The directing and editing were well done also. Check it out!

Viral Beauty is a smart, funny, and poignant look at our culture and all of its social media obsession. Approaching gender, body size and class through this satiric lens is a great idea- you don't feel like you're being preached to, but you do feel entertained and then provoked. This is what a great indie film should be.
