D3Z 1 The Wrong Trousers was what introduced me to the Wallace and Gromit franchise and I remembered how I was drew in to the stop motion animation process which was fantastically well done by Aardman Studios. Other than that there is a reason to why the Wrong Trousers is such as timeless classic that comprised of a well structured, fun and intriguing story. The breakfast making machine, the inventions going haywire and a villainous penguin that dresses like a chicken. There are a whole ton of visual gags throughout the short. Just about every frame of the whole thing has a joke in it. Here in this short is where the dynamic between Wallace and Gromit is fully ironed out. Wallace is the well-meaning all be it a little ignorant leader that gets the two into trouble. And Gromit is the silent voice of reason, who comes to the rescue when things get out of hand. There are just a couple of tired plot points at the beginning of the story that I didn't care for. But those story beats pass by fairly quickly and then we get onto some great jokes. The short is a very important piece of animation history. But beyond its historical impact, the movie is just fun to watch. The short is full of charm, energy and humor. The Wrong Trousers has the right stuff.
