Dennis Harvey Variety While no single contribution elevates “Weekend” above a disposable-entertainment level, all lend a confident surface shine that makes routine material seem better than it is -- at least for the length of time you’re watching it. Nov 11, 2024 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com After all the stunts and chases and bloodshed, "Weekend in Taipei" is all about a wholesome sense of #family. Then again, you might forget what the movie was about as soon as it ends. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 8, 2024 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Weekend in Taipei loses its nonstop mojo near the end but there’s more than enough going on that make it worth a trip to theaters. Rated: 3/5 Nov 7, 2024 Full Review M.N. Miller FandomWire The film is fast-paced, confident in its own skin, often very funny, and aims to entertain its audience above all else. Just sit back and enjoy one hell of a ride. Rated: 7/10 Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Alyssa Christian Next Best Picture If you’re a fan of the genre, “Weekend in Taipei“ offers a fun ride. It has explosive stunts, an ample amount of blood and gore, a bit of romance, and enough adrenaline to make for an enjoyable, if flawed, viewing experience. Rated: 6/10 Nov 8, 2024 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Beneath all the surface glitz and glamour, this uninspired thriller is more ponderous than playful. Tenisha T The movie was action pack. But the storyline was boring and slow. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Derek Not a necessarily good movie, but it’s fairly short and the pace moves quickly enough that it doesn’t drone on. The plot is wonky as hell, and if you’re observant you’ll definitely find yourself wondering what’s going on with many of the scenes/sets. Other than the kid, the characters you’re supposed to like are likable enough to carry a lot of the attempts at charming dialog. Han is supposed to be a billionaire kingpin, but he’s the weakest drug runner turned billionaire I’ve ever seen. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review DONALD B I thought it was rather good. Bang bang shootum up. Radical car chases. And a love story all in one Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Guozhen D Car scenes and the location. Plus the story between the two main characters. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/12/24 Full Review LaRhonda the movie started off slow, but it was ok. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review steve Good action picture with some family issues in it too.
