Alien A Welcome to Forever is a sharp, visually rich short film that uses its science fiction concept to tell a very human story. The setup is simple: a technician sent to switch off a digitized man who’s been malfunctioning. What follows is layered with atmosphere and emotion. The performances give the futuristic premise real weight, and the design work makes the world feel both grounded and strange. It’s the kind of film that stays with you because it feels bigger than its short runtime. The film features many recognizable actors, a dog, and a baby. Something you rarely see in short films. WTF won an award for Best Science Fiction short at the 2015 Chicago International REEL Shorts Festival. It also earned mentions for Best Sci-Fi Short, Best Visual Effects, and Best Fantasy Short, highlighting both the story and the craft behind it.
