I love Welcome to Woop Woop for its mania and madness, for Elliott's unbridled direction and decision making. For the manner that Jonathan Schaech, Susie Porter, and Rod Taylor, thrust themselves with vigour into their roles.

Sure - it's dark and admittedly daft, but somewhere beneath its damaging depiction of the detritus of contemporary Australian culture lies a harsh historicality; an indubitable landscape, unpleasant and unforgiving.

Ambitious, unique, eccentric and amazingly funny! If you gave this movie a negative review, you are a dull and stupid person. The plot is one of insanity, but once you enter the world, you start to get it.

Not a perfect movie; yet, an endearing and quirky romp through the dark comedy of an isolated outback cult. Difficult to categorize (like "Harold and Maude" or "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" or that ilk), which explains the poor box office and the generally tepid reviews by the contemporaneous media -- which has since been proven premature, since it is now considered a cult classic. It is in the same category of films as "Muriel's Wedding;" however, Woop Woop is the more complete and better film (probably because it doesn't aim as high). But it is a can't miss!
