Audience Member Decent watch, probably won't watch again, and can't recommend. I like Simon Helberg as an actor, but there is so little about this character that makes me care about him at all. And I like Melanie Lynskey, as an actor, and she's pretty too, but with Maggie Grace and her character, even from his perspective, it doesn't make any sense why there is a story here at all, he should just be with Kelsey. I'll digress a bit, but he's just the embodiment of problems, and she's just using time invested as an excuse to keep torturing herself with a relationship she finds taxing with little benefit. Most of the movie is about how they're scared they've both sheltered themselves too much and might be making a mistake. It seems like they go and prove themselves right, and still come to an obvious and stereotypical conclusion. None of this should be spoilers, it's a very blatant formulaic "break up because I want to know what else is out there" cliche of a movie, with all the standard features. I'm not going to say you're wasting your time on this, but I will say that there are probably better movies out there to watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Frances H Romantic comedy about an nerdy klutz and how he almost wrecks his love life. Not too bad, some chuckles. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/22/16 Full Review farah r If you value your brain cells, don't watch this shit because the first twelve minutes were enough to destroy mine. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Cringy, But if it was a Brit comedy It would of totally work Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Woody Allen Wannabe Much? liked him better as Howard on Big Bang Theory. Don't know how any Woman would wanna be with this Whiney downer, much like Woody. Loved the Other characters, also like a Woody film. What I did love though, was that Paris, and it's amazing sights that I long to see, is a prominent character in this film, and had me rewinding more than I care to admit Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Fans of The Big Bang Theory may be interested to see Helberg, and he does his usual sort of performance, but the film lacks substance and struggles to hold your attention. Ali Plumb Empire Magazine The nebbishness is spot on, but it lacks vintage Woody Allen's charm and humour. Rated: 2/5 Oct 29, 2015 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Although Quinn may strike some viewers as more annoying narcissist than self-deprecating charmer, he's a vivid creation. Jan 23, 2015 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times This derivative comedy, in addition to not being particularly funny, gives off a sense of telling us more than we needed to know. Jan 22, 2015 Full Review Cameron Ward One Room With A View Simon Helberg's cringe-inducing (non)romantic comedy crudely force-feeds its characters on time-honoured flaws, only to watch on hopefully as the audience eventually gives in to its absurdity. Rated: 3/5 Jun 15, 2019 Full Review Jennifer Heaton Alternative Lens A fantastically clever script with fun performances from the entire cast, especially leads Simon Helberg, Melanie Lynskey and Maggie Grace. Rated: 8.5/10 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Brian Walton Nerdist I highly recommend it for its superb cast, brilliantly told story and charming lead. Rated: 4/5 Oct 11, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews
