Audience Member A charming, lightweight British comedy about class and the country, an oppressive system and the freeing power of following one's dreams (when it doesn't kill you). It opens with a (hilarious, and literal) bang, and, while most of the movie never matches that same level of Ealing-style comedy, there's charm to spare, and a lot of admirable ideological passion, too--and it's something of a relief to see a movie where the main characters are middle-aged, not particularly attractive, and that's not ever really the point, because they're also people. Lovely. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
