Nick Allen RogerEbert.com The movie fails to create a full character out of Doug beyond his disability and general social awkwardness. Mitte's broad performance matches filmmaking that paints a muddy picture of the hero's specific disability. Rated: 1/4 Feb 26, 2016 Full Review Tirdad Derakhshani Philadelphia Inquirer It's hard to enjoy a film peopled by so many unlikable people. Rated: 2/4 Feb 26, 2016 Full Review Sheri Linden Los Angeles Times This road is lined with clichs and blunt dialogue, the emotional shifts all too neatly underlined by Death Cab for Cutie tracks. Feb 25, 2016 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion Though it doesn't entirely escape the aura of being a much more serious variant of a formula...the lead performances in particular give it a degree of emotional depth. Audience Member Perfect movie, warm, smart, brave (to address the tricky subject of people taking on prejudices and discriminations of their features themselves and even using them in their favor without realizing - bravo), yes, there are some clichés, but if they aren't hateful, political clichés that nobody needs, but clichés wrapped in a beautiful, clever and entertaining portrayal of many truths, it is fine with me. More of films like this, please, more of RJ Mitte, more of Daphne Zuniga! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Powerful flick w/ an extremely powerful ending! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/18 Full Review troy k Low budget indie that I almost turned off. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie gives a glimpse of a life many of us know nothing about. The story is so-so however and I mean, I love Transatlanticism as much as the next guy, but this movie was very lazily scored with possibly every song off of a single album basically. It was distracting to me. Who's Driving Doug is watchable. It is enlightening. R.J. is great as usual. I can't give the movie a stellar rating though. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I've got muscular dystrophy and I can most definitely relate, to his rollercoaster of a life. He feels as if our world, has turned It's back, based upon physical circumstance. Shines a light trough, if you will, disabled eyes, but their are more aspects. I would love to see an expansion, into other areas, of disabled life. It's a hit, in my book:) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member What a beautiful movie. I love RJ Mitte.
