Daniel Kurland Bloody Disgusting Who's Watching Oliver leaves me wanting more from Moore and his team and I'm very curious to see what they turn out next. Rated: 4/5 Aug 24, 2021 Full Review Meredith Jill Brown Dread Central Who's Watching Oliver is filled with brilliant performances, the stand-out being the obvious and convincing Banks... Rated: 5/5 Aug 24, 2021 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts At times I felt like they swapped character development with long montages. Rated: 4/10 Apr 9, 2021 Full Review Patrick King Cultured Vultures Even at its darkest, the comic sensibilities of Who's Watching Oliver keep it from becoming despairing, nihilistic. The ending is even kind of...cute(?) for an extreme horror film. Oct 10, 2019 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Who's Watching Oliver? is a film that will stick in your mind long after you've watched it, and if you're willing to acknowledge the purpose of the violence or look beyond it, you'll find it an intriguing piece of work. hyacynthe7 I watched this movie on Tubi not knowing anything about it and was alternately horrified and bored. It would be 10 minutes of like rainbows and butterflies and then some of the sickest scenes imaginable complete with incestuous content. Then another long and boring happy scene, followed by disgustingness and murder. It met my quota of a disturbing horror movie so I liked it. Some of the scenes were even, like, over the top sick. But I guess I'm just really messed up that I like these kinds of crazy movies. May need to watch again one day because I zoned out during the boring happy parts and maybe they were important. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/18/23 Full Review Matt S This movie certainly isn't for everyone, however if you like indie horror films that are graphic and slightly disturbing, Who's Watching Oliver is absolutely worth watching. It's a fairly slow-paced, low budget film, but it manages to capture your attention with seemingly innocent pleasant scenes mixed with increasingly disturbing parts that provide a good amount of shock value. The acting is surprisingly good across the board as well. Movies in this genre (especially with a low budget) can often seem forced and detached, however the writer/director did an incredible job pulling the story together in a captivating way. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/27/22 Full Review Audience Member this seems to be one of those movies that is deliberately offensive to draw attention to itself, but you can't just string a bunch of vignettes of graphic sexual abuse and violence and expect it to be watchable. reviews have referred to it as pornographic, which imo it only is in a broader sense, i.e. i view the saw movies as "torture porn", and find it to be a meaninglessly indulgent genre for the most part. it's important to depict negative experiences in film, but also to do so in a tasteful way which is actually relevant to the message of a film. this movie fails to do so. to be clear, i really don't mind these comedy/horror flicks from the same studio that are all over prime and shudder, and i don't have a low tolerance for violence in film, but this was just kind of lame and ableist. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review brad p ‘Who's Watching Oliver' is a Tragic Love Story Dressed Up as a Raw Serial Killer Tale Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member .... what? lol. i actually didn't mind the story; it's absolutely horrific. obviously there's also something wrong with sophia & i would've liked to see what her story was a little more than we did to round out the ending a bit. the ending was just weird & seemed misplaced otherwise.
