Nick Schager The Daily Beast ...it feels as if it's cutting corners in an effort to hide revelations that might complicate our feelings about this tragedy. At 83 minutes, it's a case of brevity stymying intense engagement... Apr 16, 2021 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News A layered look at justice from the viewpoint of a survivor nursing deep and painful regret. Rated: 3/4 Apr 15, 2021 Full Review Ashlie D. Stevens Salon.com The documentary is truly at its strongest as we watch Belinda's shifting understanding of justice and revenge... While occasionally bumpy, it's worth watching Why Did You Kill Me? for these deeply human moments alone. Apr 15, 2021 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Given all the tangents, director Frederick Munk wrangles this unwieldy story into a cogent and dramatically absorbing narrative. Rated: 4/5 Apr 28, 2021 Full Review Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz What unfolds is sporadically fascinating, but also achingly sad and angering, that the families of murder victims should have to fund and manage their own investigations. Apr 22, 2021 Full Review Brooke Daugherty Pop Culture Leftovers Why Did You Kill Me? smartly uses its 83 min on finding Crystal Theobald's killer. Unfortunately, Crystal gets very little backstory, leaving me wanting more emotional beats. Apr 18, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Kayla J Do Not waste your time on this! The family of the victim were all complete manipulators, fabricators, and violent, drug induced offenders. The mother is a meth addict who was high on the day her daughter died, after her daughter spent Years begging her to get off of it; but is some avenging angel because of what? Because she called the FBI and ICE on bystanders who had Nothing to do with the crime? Because she raised four sons to be absolute trash human beings who contribute Nothing to society, and a girl who died young as a result of the son's gang affiliation? Because she roped in her Prepubescent Niece to pretend to be a sexualized and partying 18 year old as some kind of "living through her" meth addicted trailer park noir detective attempt? The MOTHER is ultimately responsible 1,000% for her daughters death. Now. Why does that mean you should not watch this "true crime documentary?" Because it's Not True Crime. The producers of the show intentionally downgrade, hide, and flat out Lie about the family's involvement in the gang life, and down play the drug and violence that the family is responsible for. It's made up into a lie to make a family not seem like criminals, but rather innocent "victims" themselves. It's disgraceful. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Audience Member About 3/4 of the way through this , I realized that all of the people in this case have a depraved world view. It's very depressing. It's also becoming obvious that Netflix has a liberal bias. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Barbara T What was this? Former meth addict Belinda gets a pass for being worst mom. By vindicating her daughter Chrystal's tragic shooting in a car chase. Bravo Belinda! Seemingly not important in this flawed documentary is the involvement of Chrystal's brother nor the deprived upbringing of the shooter. And how is 22 years of prison explained for the driver who did not shoot anybody? Well, it is not! Very mediocre documentary about the low life in the lowest echelons of the American nightmare. The morale is nowhere to be found, not with the makers and certainly not with its appalling protagonists. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/04/22 Full Review william k Ambiguous, but compelling chronicle shows a dubious, but successful attempt to catch a killer; basically a very sad story revealing the harrowing effect and impact of meth addiction on all involved. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review jess s Watch ghetto gangbanger druggies target other ghetto gangbanger druggies. Don't waste your time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review andy h It takes inspiration from other more recent streaming true crime documentaries and films to make a truly twisted tale of accounts.
