Fairly stock-standard but enjoyable doco. Some great vintage footage and real insights into what a damaged, flawed, and brilliant artist Burroughs was. Also far more influential than I'd realised. The guy really destroyed some lives along the way though...

Good doco. Some great interviews. "He's the only guy I've ever known to take yage, which is absolutely the sine qua non of hallucinogenic drugs. He's also the guy that Timothy Leary and Bhagavan Das had come over to Morocco and had him try psilocybin. He's the only guy I've heard of or known to take the original CIA's version of LSD, LSD6, which is like a horse-pill of insanity. I mean the stuff that I did as a hippy in the 60s was like bubblegum, was fools-gold, compared to the extensive experience this guy had. He was a walking pharmacologist."
