Seeking solace from his dark past, Logan (Hugh Jackman), better known as Wolverine, seems to have found love and contentment with Kayla Silverfox (Lynn Collins). Logan's peaceful existence is shattered when Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber), his vicious brother, brutally murders Kayla. Logan's thirst for revenge propels him into the Weapon X program, where he undergoes a painful procedure to bond his bones with adamantium, making him virtually indestructible and more than a match for Victor.

All in all great performance by Hugh Hackman and whoever plays sabertooth, but the way they subtly threw in characters like cyclops and Emma frost in ways that retcon their origins subtly doesn’t sit right with me. The icing on the cake was poor Ryan Reynolds. His character had barely any part at the beginning of the story and all of a sudden he loses his mouth? His teleporting CGI wasn’t too good as well, and the bond between Wolverine and sabertooth didn’t evolve well or make much sense. The ratings are fair, though I do think it’s interesting and should be better than at least Captain America: Brave New World.

X-Men Origins certainly flawed, but I find it fairly entertaining in a silly and campy kind of way. It is well documented that the film suffered from the writers strike, and it definitely shows. This is evident in the CGI, overstuffed nature of the plot, and questionable dialogue at points. Wade/Deadpool was also a missed oppurtunity. However, Hugh's performance is the best aspect of the film, and I enjoyed the action moments. It is unevenas a whole but it's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. The video game tie-in is surprisingly very good too!

I loved this movie when I was a kid, then grew up and found out it had a crappy reputation, I mean I didn’t really notice the “bad” CGI back then but I think this movie is a banger

This movie shows the origins of Wolverines and while it doesn’t stand very well, it’s not completely bad. The plot of trying to kill Wolverine was cool and many characters were neat too. While the relationship between Wolverine and Sabertooth was a bit odd and how CGI ruined some characters, this movie still is ALRIGHT. Plus that scene where Wolverine first gets his claws is honestly very awesome. I’d say WATCH IT if you love Wolverine but then let it go afterward.
