While it might have benefited from a subtler approach to its message, Women Is Losers is elevated by outstanding work from lead Lorenza Izzo.

Audience Member I totally loved this movie. I really connected with the mother and her journey because she reminded me of my mother and her journey. I also love this story because it depicts the story of many of the imported people in America. This is a must watch movie. Lisette Feliciano is an amazing director. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Yuv L A great movie that tackles the challenges faced by a single mother going through many challenges and overlooks the laws and progress America has as a country with its human rights around the world especially focussing on women's rights in a pretty beautiful way. Had an amazing lead with great emotional builds and a consistent well thought fast pace that worked well in telling this story of the movie. The relationships established earlier on felt way more connecting than the ones that were messy or sprinkled throughout. The 4th wall breaks and smart cinematography with a soundtrack and unique directing had this movie going for a great run but the lack of emotional empowerment and some sloppy drive into the plot pulled it away from being as good as it could've been. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/22 Full Review Audience Member Interesting story, well acted and photographed. An important historical look at discrimination and abortion. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a compelling film with a beautiful story told though Lorenza Izzo's character. If you're tired of being bombarded with reboots, superhero films, and sequels, and just want to see something fresh and original...THIS MOVIE IS IT. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my favorite films of 2021. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an amazing film by a young woman who knows her subject inside and out. Her characters are alive and her story involves her own family and herself. Aware as she is of the use of breaking the fourth wall in comedy, she uses it to engage with her audience. I cannot recommend this film enough. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Concepción de León New York Times More often the direct addresses feel overly didactic, seeming to prioritize changing minds over telling a story. Oct 19, 2021 Full Review Richard Brody New Yorker A brisk and bright-toned tale of personal struggle amid political obstacles. Oct 18, 2021 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Feliciano uses creative ways to keep things from getting didactic, even staging a sassy little musical number in the Mission. It boasts a killer soundtrack too. Mar 26, 2021 Full Review Paula Farmer culturevulture.net It's well-worth seeking out and spreading the word about. Jan 6, 2022 Full Review Rosa Parra Latinx Lens A Latina-led period piece? Yes!, please. Wholeheartedly appreciated the thematics covered which is a wide range of female issues. Anchored by a magnetic performance from Lorenza Izzo. Rated: 4/5 Nov 20, 2021 Full Review Rain Jokinen MullingMovies.com The strong cast, which includes Simu Liu, Liza Weil, Stephen Bauer, but particularly Lorenza Izzo, helps carry the film over its bumpier and cliched moments.
