Jordan Brooks Vague Visages I have seen World of Tomorrow more than any other film of (or in) 2015, and each time it triggers new emotions while coloring both previous experiences (and those yet to come). For this incredible reason, no other film can truthfully top my list. Aug 1, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins A must-see short, as dour as it is hilarious, expertly mining pathos and awe from the preposterous and the imaginative alike. Rated: 8/10 Dec 4, 2020 Full Review Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net The animation is brilliant. Rated: A Apr 15, 2019 Full Review Joel Mayward Cinemayward When a film can be prophetic, humorous, elegant, simple, quirky, and ambitious all at once, without ever devolving into incoherence, that's something worth viewing. Rated: 5/5 Jan 9, 2019 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending Has just about the densest screenplay of any film of any length made in the English language in the 21st Century. phil s At the end of my torturous days in food service I would come home and just go catatonic on the TV. Until one day, I saw this movie. I was filled with a joy over Emilie. I would go back to the wellspring of joy every day thereafter. Each day this movie touched my poisoned soul and made me laugh like a little kid who didn't have a care in the world. I even jumped out of my seat at the end yelling, "OH NO!!!" when we find our lovely and pure Emilie thrown back 8 million years into an ice age Earth and casting about with her confused little eyes at the blowing environment. But this is a tremendous feel good although bleak movie. Its cynical narrative is positively delightful, appropriately operating in the realms of oxymoron, due to its nature as an uplifting and sweetly endearing film. I live on a fixed income, but if VUDU offered this movie I WOULD own it. You should too. It'll work beautifully soothing the societal tensions you become entangled with during your workdays. It's tough out there, especially as a person who cares about what people need in their life's; love. But I promise you, it is easy to love this movie! Try it, you'll see; a visit from Emilie each day, keeps the doldrums away. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Densely packed with insightful visuals, dark humor, and Don Hertzfeldt's signature themes about humanity, mortality, and mankind's relationship with the universe, World of Tomorrow is an astonishing short that deserves to be a feature-length film Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review nefasto r Another poetic, sad, funny, brilliant, minimal work from Don Hertzfeldt. He never miss a shot. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Short, cute, and very intelligent. A brilliant short sci-fi animation that well deserved its Oscar nomination.
