Daniel H If you liked The Castle or even The Dish, you'll get the same feelings from this movie. Like those two it's parochial Australian, but unlike them it is difficult to find - even in Australia. The tiniest of budgets, some fairly crude props and dated production technology actually enhance the charm of the rural village story. All the cast did well in their roles, even the comedians who aren't dedicated actors. Akmal Saleh, Jason Clarke and Kitty Flanagan are now well known, but were less so at the time. The main characters have enough complexity to please the intelligent viewer. And the soundtrack music isn't half bad. As for the plot line - the title gives away the serial murder element, but there's a redemption and personal growth story too. No spoilers, but there'll be a little extra in it for you if you're familiar with the Village People. Either way it's worth tracking down and having a look. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant. Low budget movie that I wasn't expecting anything from. This movie is fucking priceless for its humour. I've been looking for a copy for years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member magic! gem of a film. makes me laugh just thinking about it. I have 2 copies in case one eats itself. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member story is garbage as I expected. Dodgy technical quality too. Only good in terms of spotting all the Aussie actors. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A funny little aussie film that really fell beneath the radar. It is simply packed full of recognizable faces, mostly comedians, and is mostly a platform for some truly woeful stand-up from Akmal. This had the potential to be a fantastic film, but the emphasis was continually placed in the wrong areas and the comic timing was painfully inadequate. There are some great moments, but little to make it memorable. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member great idea for a movie, but holy fuck the jokes fall flat. not badly written, it's the timing that is shithouse Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
