Its lunacy is well staged and fast-paced. Too bad the movie's premise is so lame that the nimbler moments can't redeem it. Go to Full Review

The plotting just ends up feeling like a lot of business, ideas meant to keep the characters busy and in motion rather than actually reflecting anything like human behavior. Go to Full Review

Surely, some Hollywood studio in the 1950s made a prototype of the sprightly if erratic comedy "You May Not Kiss the Bride." Go to Full Review

A movie that never figures out a way to stitch together all of its incongruous elements. Go to Full Review

The low-brow script leads the characters through one far-fetched scenario after another with few laughs along the way. But at least the scenery is nice. Go to Full Review

A noisy, unlikable distraction that seems more invested in photographing lush Hawaiian locations than solidifying a sense of humor that might coexist peacefully with the violence. Go to Full Review

Rj B Dec 1 A surprisingly good independent movie that moves along at a good pace. Has a silly tone that makes for a lot of laughs with a lot of heart. Think Romancing The Stone. Great ensemble cast with Rob Schneider, Mena Suvari, Vinnie Jones, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Kathy Bates, Very enjoyable. See more Marco P. @Marco66 Nov 16 A solid cast can’t rescue this comedy-romance-adventure from its mediocrity, starting with the Mad Lib–like premise of a “pet photographer” forced to marry a “mobster’s daughter” and then save her from a “kidnapping.” 😂 Once the story jets off to Hawaii… ehhhrrr Tahiti, you can at least coast on the eye candy: tropical landscapes, pretty women, and sun-drenched scenery doing all the heavy lifting. Then it devolves into an extended, borderline-insufferable chase sequence where the bad guys fire off about 1,000 bullets and somehow manage to miss every single time. 🙄 New characters pop in to keep things afloat — Rob Schneider shows up as Tia Carrere’s cousin (…sure), as a delightfully unhinged helicopter pilot who manages to land a few laughs. Overall, the movie is occasionally amusing, but it leans so hard on contrived scenarios and relies on a weak lead to pull it off. I think it may have worked with a much stronger lead, one with more charisma and better comedic timing and if they had dialed back on the endless chase scenes. See more Koi P @hopep 09/22/2024 Cute. Mildly entertaining. Has some funny moments. More 80's humor than contemporary. Enjoyed the cast. See more 01/26/2023 Me and the wife watched this one and we loved it. Yes we will recommend it to James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas January 25, 2023. See more corkball 10/31/2020 The best thing about this film is Rob Schneider and Tia Carrere. They are only supporting characters, but they are actually fun to watch. The rest of the film is a weird mix of formulaic rom-com and what? A silly mob comedy? The plot is beyond ridiculous. Most of the action is super cheesy. The leads are bland and uninteresting. But once they got to the island, there were a couple of laugh out loud moments. The rest if the film is a miss. See more 08/01/2020 Gee, we haven't seen this movie a dozen times or more already. A guy who marries a woman for citizenship only (reason doesn't matter), they don't nor do they care for each othwr but by the end they fall in love, then crisis, problem, crisis, resolution, happy ending. Maybe you're hoping for some good comical moments or jokes, but even those are scarces, like an original script. If you're doing something else and need something on in the background that doesn't require your full attention, then this is the movie for you See more Read all reviews
