A swank family of swindlers that includes father "Sahib," (Roland Young), wife Marmy, son Richard (Douglas Fairbanks Jr.) and daughter George-Anne (Janet Gaynor), fall upon hard times in France and return home to London destitute. The family befriends a wealthy spinster, Miss Ellen Fortune, and after they rescue her when their train crashes, she invites them to stay with her. Initially planning to prey on Miss Ellen, the family is swayed by her goodness and begins to change in shocking ways.

The sentimental theme has been handled wittily and lightly, the cast is practically perfect, and the whole thing is so irresistibly pleasant that not even the toughest-minded movie goer can object to the old-fashioned happy ending. It is about a family of grifters who meets a lonely, vulnerable rich old woman after being thrown out of the Riviera. Janet Gaynor and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. give excellent performance. The screenplay is good but a little slow in places. Richard Wallace did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching motion picture because of the humor and drama. The Young in Heart is a must see.
