What the movie lacks is a clear moment when we collectively know that George is going to be the guy. A scene with real chills. In that sense it’s the viewer who feels ambushed… by disappointment.

Not as exciting or action-laden as similar Revolution-era works such as The Patriot or as in-depth as the John Adams mini-series, Young Washington is an accessible biopic that should spur more interest about Washington’s early years.

I like movies that are like plays. Intimate and clearly showing peoples emotions. Young Washington wasnt really like that. I guess they were trying to be more realistic.

Even though we all knew how it would end (spoiling the fact that he survives the battles... yes, it's true), it felt like we were experiencing history in real time. When it ended, I wanted to see more. Sequel?
