What the movie lacks is a clear moment when we collectively know that George is going to be the guy. A scene with real chills. In that sense it’s the viewer who feels ambushed… by disappointment.

This movie was very patriotic! Seeing young George Washington rise up through the ranks in the military was phenomenal and seeing how his life led up to the moments he first served. His bravery was most inspiring in that final battle when he rescued his comrades, fulfilling his promise he would not abandon them. Well done, Angel Studios!

Not even two lines for the very few Black actors? It’s almost like Washington didn’t own any slaves. And what was with the weird “special message” by right-wing nut job Kelsey Grammar? This movie is propaganda, not entertainment.
