Four 23-year-old friends go on a birthday retreat to a luxury cabin, while partying, they find a VHS Camcorder filming them from the woods. During the night they are drugged in their sleep by a man in all black who stays hidden in the shadows... but when they wake up, they find themselves in an abandoned factory transformed into a gameshow-like torture room. Their captor is a deranged host in an orange-velvet suit with a terrifying mask who forces the friends to play games and hurts them if they lose. In a twist of fate, it seems this is not random abuse. The host has a connection to one of the friends and he keeps it a secret. He gives them all a chance to admit it was them, to set three free and kill the one. When his target victim doesn't come clean, the brutal games continue. To survive, they must play unique and deadly games that only a psychotic gameshow host could invent. The host laughs as the friends betray, hurt, and eventually start to kill each other. But the only way to escape... is to win.

[Your Host's] carnage is noteworthy, and DW Medoff's management of Haley is immaculate, yet there’s a sour taste left by the rest of what’s involved. Go to Full Review

Your Host pulls off some of the most creative stunts you'll see in horror this year and has an amazing third act that brings the film to a satisfying conclusion. Just don't expect to care for most of the characters on screen. Go to Full Review

3.5/5
Taking inspiration from the Saw movies, director DW Medoff and writer Joey Miller clearly enjoy devising the most sadistic nastiness they can think of while keeping everything both jaunty and sharply pointed. Go to Full Review

A blood-slicked morality play for the social media era, Your Host may not win points for originality, but it delivers where it counts — in guts, grit, and gallons of fake blood. Go to Full Review

Christopher H. @ChristopherMontanaHaynes 20h The gore was very well done practical effects pretty top-notch. Not a saw rip-off. Which is where I thought it was going. It took an interesting look at me too and people taking advantage of sexual harassment. I thought it was clever kills were really fun. It was rather satisfying I thought. Gross out. Lol 🤣 it was fun. not a masterpiece. By any means. I think that's okay if you're into something kind of wicked gross. Give it a watch! See more John P @Jprice123 1d better than expected. Jackie earle haley carries the whole movie but was a watchable gore horror See more Joey M @JMM22 1d Great movie in my opinion. See more Bisquiteen T @RT65021124 2d I'm sorry, how do you make a SAW movie this boring? Mostly feels like not one of the best sequels, but serviceable - but for all the things to be said about SAW, they rarely get BORING. I think the movie tries to do what the first three SAWs did, create some psych profile of the characters instead of just diving into "let's torture you because you're supposedly a bad person," but the characterization is alarmingly shallow, leaving you with torture victims you just don't care about. Then, you get to the fact that the killer is not a charming genius psychopath with goofy moral philosophies, but some guy doing his best to act like a "weirdo," and instead of seeming like a weirdo, seeming like some guy doing his best to act like a "weirdo." So, you end up with a pretty boring group of people. The attempt at a "twist" is fairly embarrassing, even at this level. The torture scenes are, sure, fine. Okay. Eh, not the worst waste of 93 mins if you like torture schlock, but...yeah, it's boring. See more Martin P @endymetal 5d Awful movie, no story, torture porn. Couldn't finish it. Worst of 2026 so far. See more PoopChute M. @M3diaPoooopChuttee Feb 8 Your Host is an entertaining horror movie that many people may have missed when it released last year. Directed by D.W. Madoff, the film delivers strong suspense and tension, reminiscent of earlier entries in the Saw franchise when the series focused more on atmosphere and storytelling. From beginning to end, the movie keeps the momentum going with creative scenarios and consistent suspense that make it hard to look away. While it isn’t perfect, it remains engaging throughout and is a solid choice for horror fans looking for something new. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy suspenseful horror films.
