Four 23-year-old friends go on a birthday retreat to a luxury cabin, while partying, they find a VHS Camcorder filming them from the woods. During the night they are drugged in their sleep by a man in all black who stays hidden in the shadows... but when they wake up, they find themselves in an abandoned factory transformed into a gameshow-like torture room. Their captor is a deranged host in an orange-velvet suit with a terrifying mask who forces the friends to play games and hurts them if they lose. In a twist of fate, it seems this is not random abuse. The host has a connection to one of the friends and he keeps it a secret. He gives them all a chance to admit it was them, to set three free and kill the one. When his target victim doesn't come clean, the brutal games continue. To survive, they must play unique and deadly games that only a psychotic gameshow host could invent. The host laughs as the friends betray, hurt, and eventually start to kill each other. But the only way to escape... is to win.

[Your Host's] carnage is noteworthy, and DW Medoff's management of Haley is immaculate, yet there’s a sour taste left by the rest of what’s involved. Go to Full Review

Your Host pulls off some of the most creative stunts you'll see in horror this year and has an amazing third act that brings the film to a satisfying conclusion. Just don't expect to care for most of the characters on screen. Go to Full Review

3.5/5
Taking inspiration from the Saw movies, director DW Medoff and writer Joey Miller clearly enjoy devising the most sadistic nastiness they can think of while keeping everything both jaunty and sharply pointed. Go to Full Review

A blood-slicked morality play for the social media era, Your Host may not win points for originality, but it delivers where it counts — in guts, grit, and gallons of fake blood. Go to Full Review

Jason W Dec 7 At first it annoyed me how much was taken from the Saw series exactly, like the chained to the wall by the neck, the key in the stomach, etc, along with the cringy characters, but at the end, taking into account the phenomenal skills of Jackie Earl Haley, the cinematography, special fx and the decent back story, I had to give in and say I enjoyed this one. See more Dave S Nov 27 Decent movie overall. Jackie Earle Haley is definitely the main event of it all. Easy to follow and definitely not for the squeamish at times. See more Slick R @SlickReviewer Nov 22 Low budget rip off of the Saw franchise except they don't have puzzles and the acting is horrible with really bad script and plot. I tried to watch through the really long main scene where they are captured but lost patience because it was so boring. See more Lee P. @CodyJ77 Nov 5 If i could give it no stars, i would. The acting is so bad!! I mean, so, so bad!! I bought it on Prime Video and turned it off 28 minutes in. It's the worst movie I've seen all year. See more James . Nov 2 The acting was horrendous plus little mistakes like this in moves really get to me there was a scene where the actor was picking up some trash he looked at a video camera that was on but before picking up the rest of the trash (there where a few more little pieces on the ground) he took the trash bag outside, I mean who just leaves a few more pieces that where beside the ones you were picking up on the ground? Sorry this just really irritates me. See more sebastian andres o @Yoamoalcine Oct 29 A little gem we occasionally find around. It possesses grace and intelligence to keep the viewer on edge, backed by a skillful direction that combines tension with bloody moments, evoking the early days of Jigsaw. See more Read all reviews
