A movie that comes across as a vechile for Cera to cut loose and show us he's more than a timid nerd. One he does for the most part. It's just a shame that the script is so uneven.

perhaps the market was oversaturated with michael cera at the time this came out, which may be why it's so poorly reviewed. frankly, i like it better than scott pilgrim by far. this is probably one of cera's best performances, and the rest of the cast doesn't disappoint either.

A little nonsensical alteration of the source material, e.g. why keeping Paul and omitting Fuzzy, also D____e was missing while Lefty was there for couple of lines while all his part of the story was removed. Ferguson was cool and authentic. Diverse range of actors for believable to school level, e.g. portraying Trent as terminator or what was that supposed to mean. In this case book is strongly recommended over the movie.
