"Zooey" is a wonderfully dark love story that tells the tale of a junkie prostitute and her husband - a drug dealer. The brilliant thing about this piece is that the bleak plot somehow manages to unfold with compassionate undertones. Our protagonists live a tragic life yet still they manage to cling to hopes and dreams for the future. My main complaint is that the storyline was too predictable in parts.
