What to Know

Critics Consensus

Zoolander No. 2 has more celebrity cameos than laughs -- and its meager handful of memorable gags outnumbers the few worthwhile ideas discernible in its scattershot rehash of a script.

Angie Han Slashfilm Far too much of the film feels a laundry list of references to the original. Jun 14, 2017 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com While not a film likely to have a lot in the way of staying power, I still enjoyed Zoolander 2, the sequel reminding me that Stiller is a creatively inspired director who should probably step behind the camera more often than he right now does. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 15, 2016 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Chesapeake Family Magazine Failing to tap into practically any of the charm of its predecessor is Zoolander 2, a supposed comedy devoid of practically any creativity and humor. Blu B Okay I'll give it this...I can't give it a strike for being ridiculously dumb with a stupid plot because the first movie had the same thing and it worked there. Besides a forgettable soundtrack that is nowhere near as catchy as the 80's tracks of the first, everything here fundamentally is just terrible. The worst part of all is besides 1-2 times there is absoulutely no laughs at all. The problem is it doubles down on being so ridiculously over the top and stupid it isn't even making sense. It moves at lighting speed with no joke after dumb scene, after dumb scene that just makes no sense half the time. You can literally feel your brain start to turn off with how just over the top ridiculius this gets and it's not even funny or clever. It's just plain stupid. Gone is any underlying commentary on the industry, no new characters except the son who isn't that funny, and hardly any character development. It somehow also looks really cheap at certain points too despite having a ton of production value too. I find it ironic that along with Pirates of the Caribbean, Penelope Cruz has now been in two movies about the Fountain of Youth. Anyway skip this. One of the most unneeded sequels ever made. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review Charles H Despite the surprising amount of celebrities in the movie, there really isn't much into the screenwriting. It could've been a legendary sequel... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review Mld G I mean it was alright for what it was but the first one was a lot better i liked that there was a lot of cameos in it tho Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Audience Member The movie is very silly but that makes it fun. It's not the best movie in the world but it's fun and worth watching when you're with your family and want to relax a bit. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Worst sequel in film history. Unwatchable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Nick S I don’t care what anyone says, I thought it was hilarious 🤣 Sutherland’s cameo had me in stitches! The film is just so ridiculous, over the top and stupid, it’s genius. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Read all reviews
