Rueben Tate (Louis Gossett Jr.) is devastated when his 9-year-old daughter is killed by a stray bullet during a gangland shootout. He is equally disturbed to learn that in the wake of the heinous crime no one is willing to testify against the shooter, a petty thug known as Zooman (Khalil Kain), despite there being several witnesses. Frustrated by the apathy that surrounds him in his neighborhood, Reuben resolves to take matters into his own hands.

Audience Member Excellent movie, all star cast about redemption of a murder in a close knit neighborhood. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Frances H A morality play about ultimate responsibility in a multiracial neighborhood where a child has been killed in a gang shootout. What seems to get the neighbors upset surprisingly is not so much the shooting of the child, but a sign that the father puts up that asks the people who might have seen the shooter to come forward, although nobody saw anything, according to what they told the police.
