Verne Gay Newsday Visually spectacular and a good cast — Wong in particular. Rated: 3/4 Apr 8, 2024 Full Review Wenlei Ma The Nightly (AU) Ambitious, towering and crammed with big ideas about intellectual curiosity, exploration and our place in the universe while still managing to tell intimate stories about human relationships. Apr 1, 2024 Full Review Shirley Li The Atlantic I get a kick out of realizing which portions of the trilogy the show’s creators have chopped up and rearranged, delighted to be shown parallels among characters... and still find Benioff and Weiss to be great at writing memorable, economical dialogue. Mar 25, 2024 Full Review Palmer Haasch Business Insider "3 Body Problem," which oscillates from murder mystery to extraterrestrial sensibilities that should tickle any Carl Sagan fan's interest, sometimes feels too big for itself. Conversely, that large scope is also what makes it so compelling. Nov 15, 2024 Full Review Nelson Acosta Koimoi 3 Body Problem is an adaptation with all the ingredients for success, but it doesn’t match the original material’s efforts doesn’t to create something unique and compelling. Rated: 3/5 Jul 4, 2024 Full Review Joonatan Itkonen Toisto.net This is a big, brilliant, and beautiful sci-fi epic that was worth the wait. Rated: 5/5 Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Slippy B Really loved this. It's a bit different from the books bringing in some characters from book 2 and 3 but I think they did a great job with a very complex book and making it work for TV can't wait for the next season! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/25 Full Review General T Interesting concept but bad direction, screen writing etc. series feels more interested in promoting scientific dogmatism than making a good show Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/25 Full Review Gabriella A I'm fairly surprised at all the bad reviews! I think part of the reason I really liked this show is because I read the book AND I found the book hard to navigate. So, those who loved the first book and found it perfect as-is might be turned off by the fact that the scientist is a lip-filled "hot chick" instead of a middle aged man, and by the needless romantic side stories that give the show a kitchy vibe. But for myself, who stopped reading the book twice before finally finishing - because it drones on and on about needless technical details about Chinese revolutionary history and the fate of unimportant characters with no personality - these little rom-com additions added a light-hearted flavor to an otherwise dry story. I also wish the show added a little more technical detail - thats what makes the book worth reading- it deeply explains a lot of difficult physical concepts that other sci-fi books just mention, like collapsing dimensions: I never fully understood that concept until I read this book. I can see why people watching the show with no background could be like "huh?" the second the orbs show up or the string is made, it might seem like a ridiculous plot twist without the detailed explanation given in the book. But, if youre someone who liked the book but didnt love the book, or someone who read it five years ago and opted out of reading book two, this is the perfect show for you. It explains in ten minutes what eight chapters might explain in the books, and in a casual way that allows you to have the show playing for your whole family after dinner (because seriously, your family wont join you in reading this) For me, it got me re-excited about the whole series and inspired me to grab "the dark forest", which i wouldnt have done otherwise. And, good thing too because book two just jumps right into where book one left off with absolutely no recap whatsoever. And, the dark forest is SO GOOD! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/09/25 Full Review Bernd D Bad script, boring and stupid. Without knowing the chinese book, I understand why they are mad at this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Serafina L Painful to watch. the plot becomes immediately complicated for no reason. It becomes, then, a matter to reach the end of the season Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Balthazar B This show acts all “accurately sciency” with the Hadron collider amongst others, but then scientist see a countdown in their eyes? And the big reveal at the end of the first episode is that THE STARS START BLINKING?? What a load of crap. Don’t watch, save yourself some time.
