Verne Gay Newsday Visually spectacular and a good cast — Wong in particular. Rated: 3/4 Apr 8, 2024 Full Review Wenlei Ma The Nightly (AU) Ambitious, towering and crammed with big ideas about intellectual curiosity, exploration and our place in the universe while still managing to tell intimate stories about human relationships. Apr 1, 2024 Full Review Shirley Li The Atlantic I get a kick out of realizing which portions of the trilogy the show’s creators have chopped up and rearranged, delighted to be shown parallels among characters... and still find Benioff and Weiss to be great at writing memorable, economical dialogue. Mar 25, 2024 Full Review Derek Sante KVCW (Las Vegas) This series builds a world below the surface where who where are and our place in time, space and the galaxy are all up for discussion. Rated: B- May 23, 2024 Full Review Lachmi Deb Roy Firstpost Liu Cixin’s hard science fiction epic is much more than alien threats with more emphasis on the cultural revolutions and human problems. Rated: 3.5/5 May 22, 2024 Full Review Vikram Murthi The Nation The result is a confused mishmash: The rational, scientific side of the story isn’t coldly detailed enough to captivate, and its emotional side feels too superficial or muddled to cut deep. Pierre H Interesting and entertaining with an intriguing subject matter. This could have turned into a great story, unfortunately there are too many plot holes. The writers whould have taken more liberties in modifying the original story so that the end result would make more sense. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Tina K Sci-fi heaven. Loved it. Clever and creative. I loved the diverse cast. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/24 Full Review Max K Disappointing, despite the large budget and effort. Just doesn't hold together. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/21/24 Full Review J P Why does it seem like death to Hollywood to pass up every chance to hate on any hint of an intelligent designer / GOD? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/24 Full Review Jimmy M This show is like the band, The Beatles. Lots of people will say they love it because they just want to fit in. Let’s be honest, it’s rubbish. As someone who is massively interested in the concepts the shows tries to explore I am disappointed. It tries too hard to be interesting and different and actually just comes off as stupid and contrived. Aside from the lazy writing in which the “mysterious” headset just appears to those who need it to move the plot forward, it’s frankly just boring… Its selling point is that it’s from the writers behind Game of Thrones. Well, you’re only as good as your last show and this is shi… Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/24 Full Review Jason P Very overhyped. The scientific "3 body problem" concept and core initial story is strong and there are many mysteries at the start. The first half the season progresses decently well but then veers significantly into complete stupidity and almost every scene becomes guilty of plot convenience. It becomes outrageous and unwatchable towards the end as the plot starts to contradict itself, there is no way this isn't heavily edited from the source material as there are too many holes for this to be a faithful adaptation of a successful novel!
