What to Know

Critics Consensus

Cross' case for itself isn't closed just yet, but the commanding Aldis Hodge makes for the most arresting embodiment of James Patterson's literary creation yet.

Sherin Nicole RogerEbert.com 'Cross' is three-dimensional, spiky and introspective, with a streak of genuine creepiness shooting through the murky waters of DC crime. Nov 16, 2024 Full Review Kelly Lawler USA Today This version of "Cross," however, seems like all the worst stereotypes about the genre mashed up into a slow, overly long season of television. It's like a betrayal. Or maybe a double cross. Rated: 2/4 Nov 15, 2024 Full Review David Opie Empire Magazine Opting for a new mystery welcomes fans and newbies alike to the world of Alex Cross in a successful adaptation that's left us feeling anything but cro… disappointed. Rated: 4/5 Nov 15, 2024 Full Review Jen Maravegias Pajiba At times, the eight-episode season feels slow in terms of action. Yet the pacing allows for a richer character study than previous film versions of Alex Cross. Nov 21, 2024 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Cross is a solid crime thriller made very watchable by Hodge’s performance as the title character. Nov 19, 2024 Full Review Neely Swanson Beverly Hills Courier What should be a thrilling series with twists and turns aplenty is rather flat. The timing seems off. Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross is quite good but the support is weak and the dialogue, which should crackle, fizzles. Nov 18, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Patrick A A well made edge of the sofa thriller that takes you through an intense journey Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Samir H Dumb tv show that looked promising at the beginning. Spend more time showing gory mutalating scenes and showing how ridiculous police can be almost laughable. Cast are very good especially Aldis Hodge. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Winter R Very disappointing. Simply too much of all the wrong bits, not nearly enough of the right ones. Pass👎 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Susan L It’s James Patterson’s Alex Cross - you know it’s gonna be 🔥🔥 Bingeworthy and fantastic! Razor sharp performances by a stellar cast. The layers of drama and characters just keep getting peeled back and nothing is revealed until its time. Bravo Aldis, Ryan, and every cast member 👏👏 May be my favorite Alex Cross to date, but I have been a Hardison, I mean Aldis Hodge fan for many, many years! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Atto b I've never read the books, so this is purely based on the show. Avoid. Incredibly boring, flat characters, no humor, put my family to sleep because nothing was going on and there wasn't anything to break the monotony If you want a crime show go watch rea her. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Lee B I don’t know if it was bad directing, bad acting, or what it was but everything about the series just was off. I felt like I was watching one of those terrible dubbed foreign films where the voices don’t match the character or part and you’re left wondering why the heck you’re even watching it. I was excited for this because I’ve always loved the books and I thought Prime meant it would have a decent budget, but it clearly came across as B movie status. I had to force myself to finish because I’m no quitter, but good lord was it bad. Definitely just lost eight hours of my life. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Read all reviews
