If someone persists past the first episodes that describe what happened before the trial, there is reward as the narrative tightens in this true crime series. At baseline we are watching two adults having sex, never naked, as if there is no way to angle the camera so it doesn’t show breasts or genitalia. We also watch them taking showers several times, I assume without underwear, which was unnecessary except perhaps the first time. Once we get in the courtroom the quality improves. Overall, the information presented justifies the verdict. Candy did not commit any other crimes. The actresses selected for the female characters are more attractive than the actual persons, while the two husbands did not get any upgrades. Personally, I am surprised that an attorney who had not litigated any other criminal cases, was able to pull this verdict. Unfortunately, he set too high standards for himself and several years later he died by suicide.

As a true crime aficionado, I had already watched Candy on Hulu and thought that I had exhausted my interest in this Texas suburban murder. However, Elizabeth Olsen's take on the famed murderess was much better. Nothing against Jessica Biel, but Olsen brought a little bit more nuance and subtlety to the role. Recommended
