Critics Consensus

One Piece season two offers higher stakes, a larger scope, and plenty of adventure without buckling under the pressure of being a near perfect live-action adaptation.

In its second season, the series continues to embrace theatricality and artifice on a grand scale. Go to Full Review

Even after an excellent first season, One Piece Season 2 feels like a wildly impressive level-up in many respects. Go to Full Review

Owens, Tracz, and the writers continue to capture the secret sauce of this work, one where literal cartoon characters are regularly granted unexpected depth. Go to Full Review

If you love the absurd, embrace the insanity, and the pirate’s life is for you, then One Piece remains a standout in a sea of crime and family dramas. these are criminals redefining what family is. Go to Full Review

This adaptation can be described as a great victory: it translates and condenses a vast fantasy world without losing sight of what makes the series so special. Go to Full Review

Season two is a masterclass in adaptation, far surpassing the first! I loved how they fully leaned into the weirdness of the world while delivering massive emotional payoffs for every character. It’s heartfelt, inspiring, and a perfect adaptation. Go to Full Review

The Strangest Maniac @RT68954383 2h Too Corny & Or Cheesy, What Ever You Call It But It’s Not As Good As The Anime Plus The Acting Sucks Or Maybe It’s How They Carry Themselves It’s Just Not The Same! In the anime, I instantly feel like I had a connection with Luffy as if we could be the same, but the live action doesn’t give me that feel it’s a completely different vibe. See more JH L @RT77032097 5d Much more worse than Season 1. The pacing is really inconsistent. Some episodes were wonderful either because they featured amazing sets and action scenes, or because they hit great emotional beats between characters. But there were episodes that were snooze fests. Scenes that lingered way too long on a close-up or pauses for dramatic effect. Conversations that either didn't fit the personality of the character, or was meaningless banter to drive a scene forward. Content padded to fill the longer runtime of an episode. Shots or behaviors that tried to emulate iconic manga scenes but just look like really out-of-place cutscenes or bad directing. Every Season 1 episode was a thrill and we couldn't wait to watch the next one. Season 2 was more of a 'gosh we have 5 more episodes to go - is it all going to be this bad?' The adventure, the pacing, the camaraderie - they're missing in Season 2. The manga is soooo much better, read it and past this show. See more j C @123jc Jul 16 One Piece is one of the most enjoyable shows I've watched. It perfectly balances adventure, action, humor, and emotional moments, while staying true to the spirit of the original story. The cast has incredible chemistry, the world feels alive, and every episode leaves you excited for the next. Season 2 raises the bar even higher with stronger character development, bigger stakes, and fantastic performances. Whether you're a longtime fan or completely new to One Piece, this series is an amazing experience that's well worth watching.
