      Season 4 – Prime Suspect

1995 Crime Drama Mystery & Thriller List
100% 5 Reviews Tomatometer 60% Fewer than 50 Ratings Audience Score After a colleague suffers a near-fatal heart attack, Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison takes over an investigation into the murder of Delia Mornay, a young prostitute. After a second body is discovered, what started as a single murder inquiry turns into an investigation stretching back over 10 years, forcing Jane to devote every waking hour to the case and taking a toll on her home life with her recently divorced live-in lover, Peter Rawlins. She is, in short, a great, great character, and darn lucky to have a great, great actress playing her. Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Patricia Brennan Washington Post It has, alas, lost some of the richness in its characters that fans have come to expect. Not that this week's story, "The Lost Child," isn't worth watching. Indeed, it is better than most offerings on the tube. Apr 12, 2019 Full Review John J. O'Connor New York Times Not nearly as rich in storytelling or character development as the previous mini-series... But John Madden's direction steadily gets past the production trims to create a tale of sustained suspense. Apr 12, 2019 Full Review David Hiltbrand People Magazine As always, Mirren gives an engrossing, utterly convincing performance as Tennison. Also excellent is Stuart Wilson as a supercilious consulting psychiatrist who specializes in pedophiles. A Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews Next
