Hugo Rifkind The Times (UK) It’s fun and fast, there’s lots of lightsaber action, and we’re gearing up for a good old-fashioned space-chase. Aug 25, 2023 Full Review Peter Travers ABC News No lightsabers can match the firece glow of Rosario Dawson as the ex-Jedi with the funky headgear who leads her sisterhood—glory to Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Natasha Liu Bordizzo—against the Empire’s fading patriarchy. Now that's worth celebrating. Aug 25, 2023 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) There’s a surplus of exposition and familiar lightsabre battles, but Ahsoka is still more promising than last year’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. I’m sticking with it. Rated: 3/5 Aug 25, 2023 Full Review Karl Puschmann New Zealand Herald Rosario Dawson plays the character with all of the vim and excitement of a heavily medicated accountant. She floats disinterestedly on a cloud of self-satisfied contentment through most of the episodes. Feb 12, 2025 Full Review Tom Spoors Loud and Clear Reviews Whilst it may satisfy fans of Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka ultimately feels like a misfire for the franchise, lacking the soul needed to help it stand on its own. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 7, 2025 Full Review Allison Rose FlickDirect Ahsoka is a unique character with layers and depth, and this special edition steelbook 4K is the perfect way to accent her in this limited series. Jacopo D Non basta fare vincere i cattivi per fare qualcosa di originale, quando Asohka cerca di essere da ragazzi adolescenti diventa per bambini con una trama, personaggi e combattimenti molto banali. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/30/25 Full Review Shadow S One of the best original characters Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/25 Full Review Marco L (CASTELLANO) Star Wars: Ahsoka me ha gustado mucho. (ENGLISH) Star Wars: Ahsoka really worked for me. It doesn’t reach the level of Andor —nothing does after that masterpiece— but it gets close enough to deserve a solid 9. Seeing Sabine, Ezra, and even Thrawn again was a thrill. Rosario Dawson nails Ahsoka, and Dave Filoni continues the Rebels legacy with care, ambition, and a touch of melancholy. The show is crafted with love, and while the pace is slow at times, it allows the big moments to breathe. But here’s the thing: what about viewers who haven’t seen Rebels? Ahsoka doesn’t really stop to catch them up. If you know the backstory, it’s all meaningful and layered. If not, it may feel confusing, distant, or even emotionally flat. Filoni clearly chose to please long-time fans over winning over newcomers. Visually, it holds up well —the animation-inspired look works— and the action scenes avoid falling into empty spectacle. Ahsoka isn’t perfect, but it has heart —something many recent Star Wars projects lack. It’s more of a continuation than an introduction, and that’s both its strength and its limitation. But if you’re already invested, it gives you something truly rewarding. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Jacob B Ahsoka boasts good performances from its cast with the late Ray Stevenson serving as the true MVP, has some really badass moments and scenes that are quite visually pleasing but some of the writing can be clunky, cameos can be either gratuitous or nostalgia-pandering and, most damningly, this entry in the Star Wars franchise relies a bit too much on the context of animated media that not everybody will have seen to have maximum investment in what's going on. Makes it feel, at times, less like a show about a character from The Clone Wars who became more popular thanks to Lucasfilm's faith in Dave Filoni's vision and more of a live-action revival of the more polarising Rebels show disguised as a show about Ahsoka. It still has its satisfying moments and doesn't have as many issues as the Obi-Wan miniseries did but if you thought Marvel was giving you too much homework, Ahsoka does the classic "hold my lightsaber" bit and hopes that you've binge-watched multiple seasons' worth of two animated TV shows because it makes very little effort to hold your hand, at all. Better brush up on your history to understand why we should be afraid of this blue guy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/13/25 Full Review M B Big Budget but I didn't like the main actor as Ahsoka. The story is also a bit thin and the characters do not really develop. Sabine was a very interesting character with lots of potential but she was wasted really in the later episodes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review DK1 M Poor pacing and weak dialogue. This show should have been much better. Ray Stevenson is the best thing in it. There is no sense of peril - apparently you can get stabbed with a light sabre and be up and about a day later. I also found Sabine’s character really annoying. A missed opportunity.
