Clarisse Loughrey Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) Not everything should be Andor. And there is an open and welcome space for stories like Skeleton Crew - the ones that might seem small in scale, but big in heart. Jan 15, 2025 Full Review Brooks Eisenbise Chicago Reader Whether Skeleton Crew will devolve into redundancy and needless exposition or be canceled before it reaches a satisfying conclusion... is anyone’s guess. But whether you’re a longtime fan or completely new to Star Wars, it’s worth sticking around to see. Dec 20, 2024 Full Review Melanie McFarland Salon.com By rights, this thing should be Gen Alpha’s joy and memory stain, but it’s a work that belongs to both everyone and nobody. Which is a shame. Dec 11, 2024 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies The series builds a strong story arc and surrounds it with some solid worldbuilding...It also helps to have Jude Law - a stabilizing anchor who immediately feels right at home in the Galaxy Far, Far Away. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 16, 2025 Full Review Matthew Haynes Matthewvhaynes (YouTube) Star Wars Skeleton Crew was an amazing series that expanded the overall lore of the franchise, continuing with great music and a great cast! Jude Law was a standout and brought a side of storytelling we haven't seen in the franchise so far Rated: 9/10 Mar 31, 2025 Full Review Naliaah Castro Black Nerd Problems By stepping away from the Jedi-centric stories that have dominated the Star Wars universe, it carves out a space for fresh narratives and perspectives. John S Stars Wars action in a kids show version. I'll be honest we watched it as a family and we really enjoyed it. Does it fit into the Star Wars canon? I think it can. It might be a tad bit out there but and I enjoyed it. It certainly didn't break anything like they did in Episodes 8 and 9. I hope they continue this series at some point even though it looks like they will not. No intenta parecerse a Andor ni a The Mandalorian, y hace bien. (ENGLISH) Skeleton Crew doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not: it’s a light, youth-oriented series with a nostalgic 80s vibe and a sense of group adventure that feels familiar. It doesn’t try to be Andor or The Mandalorian, and that’s fine. It takes a different route, aiming to hook younger viewers into the Star Wars universe through friendship, exploration, and that feeling of discovering the galaxy for the first time. At times it brings to mind The Goonies, Stranger Things, or even E.T. —and I don’t mean that negatively. The series knows what it wants to be and leans into it. From the music to the production design, everything seems crafted to tap into the nostalgia of 80s kids while also reaching a new generation. The young cast has charm and energy, and Jude Law plays a nicely balanced role that adds both mystery and warmth. Is it predictable? Quite. Are the references obvious? Sure. But that’s not always a bad thing. The show doesn’t overcomplicate itself —it just gets to the point, keeps things light, and delivers what it promises. It’s easy to watch, entertaining, and clearly understands its audience. It may not be deep or unforgettable, but it’s a friendly, accessible adventure that reminds us why we fell in love with Star Wars as kids. And if it gets new viewers to feel the same, then mission accomplished. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/16/25 Full Review Charles L Very fun and entertaining adventure. Jude Law is charismatic and steals the scene. The Kids are also good and the production are also on point Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/25 Full Review Micah F Doesn't even feel like Star Wars, and feels like the fever dream of a Mother Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/25 Full Review Kenneth K It may be not the most original concept but it still carries fun star wars adventure energy. The cast ist great and everybody is doing a good job. The practical effects are super fun and pay off super well, making it feel that more real.
