This follow-up series to "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is set 70 years after the events of "Avatar" and follows Korra, the next Avatar after Aang, who is from the Southern Water Tribe. With earth, water and fire under her belt, Korra must master the art of airbending. Korra's quest leads her to Republic City, a virtual melting pot where benders and nonbenders live together. But she soon discovers that the land is plagued by crime and a growing antibending revolution that threatens to tear the city apart. While dealing with the dangers, Korra begins her airbending training under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin.

Hannah Strom Bitch Media Instead of spending time on character development, Legend of Korra mires its characters in absurd, round-and-round fights over who gets to date one another. Jan 20, 2021 Full Review Brian Lowry Variety The Legend of Korra, another slick-looking, anime-informed concept,... this [series] represents a bit more ambitious storytelling for older kids, and perhaps a few adults with the geek gene. Sep 21, 2018 Full Review David Hinckley New York Daily News Maybe having a 17-year-old girl run the world isn't as weird an idea as it sounds. In The Legend of Korra, it's sure entertaining watching her learn how. Sep 21, 2018 Full Review Kaci Ferrell Den of Geek I've honestly loved that Korra was willing to go to continually sadder and harder to deal with places all season long.... sometimes, things suck and that's the way life is. Sep 22, 2018 Full Review Emily Ashby Common Sense Media Continuing in the tradition of epic fiction established in Avatar: The Last Airbender, this series boasts a surprising level of substance for an action cartoon. Sep 21, 2018 Full Review Rebecca Pahle The Mary Sue I'm pretty sure Naga is the most impressive character in this show so far. Sep 20, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Ted C does not have a soul like avatar does, but worth watching Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review TNT D While certainly not even close to the storytelling of Avatar: The Last Airbender, 'The Legend Of Korra's first season is host to some of the best characters there is. Korra is not as appealing as an Avatar as Aang was, but all-in-all, this season is an excellent addition to the franchise and aced having a darker tone to match its (now-older) audience. 7/10 -TNTDude Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/15/24 Full Review Michael M Vastly inferior to its predecessor in every aspect. While I’m sure there’s plenty of people who would disagree with me, I found the main character to be entitled, and annoying in comparison to her supporting cast. She’s the worst thing about the show. As for the writing. Just because it features a female protagonist, doesn’t mean that we needed to have CW level drama, in the form on a love triangle. I’m not sure what the show runners were inferring here. Was it that they think their female audience needs to have dumbed down reality laden tv tropes in order to keep them entertained? For all intents and purposes it’s a kids cartoon, so why was that even necessary? As for the whole benders vs non benders story, they failed to even wrap it up appropriately. Just mid poor to mid level writing throughout the entire first season. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Ožbej M Legend of Korra season 1 is incredible and is as good as Avatar the Last airbender. All the new characters like Tenzin, Mako, Bolin, Asami and tarrlok are all super interesting and Amon is the best animated villian I have ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Jonah T Excellent story and honestly really well written and done. Not as good as ATLA but that is hard to top. The only people who don't like it are people who expect Korra to be a clone of Aang, but shes her own person. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/11/24 Full Review Matthew P the only think I like about this show the flashback scene with Avatar Aang and the Gaang when there older. I like seeing the older version of katara and my favorite new characters from legend of Korra are Tenzin and Lin Beifong the son of Avatar Aang and Katara and the daughter of Toph Beifong Hers what I don't like about it 1. I don't like korra 2. The villain is bad 3. The writing is terrible 4. Don't like mako 5. Don't like Bolin 6. Don't like Asami 7. Don't like Naga and pabu 8. Don't like that they killed both aang and sokka 9. She airbends from barely any training 10. I hate the love triangle thing 11. Do ever see her do any training 12. I hate the whole pro bending thing 13. They retconned how bloodbending works Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Read all reviews
