It's an amiably shambly golfing comedy that finds him doing all the familiar Will Ferrell things. Although he's an acquired taste I've never fully acquired, I found myself laughing enough to watch all 10 half-hour episodes.

Director David Gordon Green (The Righteous Gemstones) usually knows what to do with unlikable characters, but it can be hard to watch the petulant Hawkins as he treats people terribly and thinks only of himself (at least in early episodes).

Yes, all of this makes for a messy life and it describes a lot of what’s happening in "The Hawk," a show that proves to be a mixed bag. It’s alternately funny and uneven, and never finds a narrative cruise control.

Critic reviews make me sick! Laughed from the first second to the last, was Will Ferrel at his comedic best. Will be devastated if we’re robbed of a season two because critics don’t know what humour is.

Badly miscast. Jimmy Tatro ruins the show and is terrible. I could not understand him, he burps all his lines. He is awful and he is in like EVERY scene it is a real turn off. Fortune Feimester is awful, no charisma no chemistry didnt laugh once at her she just sits there and goes HELL YEA for 10 episodes. She seems nice but not meant to be a comedian she is flat out not funny at all. If they had used skilled comedic actors this show would have kicked ass. Will Farrell has NOTHING to bounce off of. He barks out funny shit and these other people just ruin it every time. But I did LOL a few times and I found the 2000s vibe of Lonnie to be cozy. Farrell still has it, he delivers. Asip Cricket as gay southern man in like 150 scenes we just see him over and over and over doing nothing. Chris Parnell was awesome. Molly Shannon yells on the phone over and over and tries to sell her booze over and over for all 10 episodes its exhausting man. Could have been so much better...

It's a fun 1 season series with some classic Will Ferrell Humor which is toned down a bit, but all the more likeable for those like me who think his full crash outs in other movies and series are a bit much. Fortune and Will's chemistry is undoubtedly the best part! Critics being critics are too damn hard on something that's meant to be a light hearted watch. VERY enjoyable!

I really enjoyed it! I recommend pushing past the first 3 episodes. I liked the first 3, but wasn't in love with it. By the end of the series, I had totally fallen in love with the whole show. There are some laugh out loud moments and lots of great one-liners. And, by the end of the series, I actually felt a little heart-warmed. I love Will Ferrel comedy. If you don't, I'm not sure if it will land. I thought Fortune Feimster was so funny too. Loved the whole cast.
