Tom Shales Washington Post Naked Truth was a lousy show in 1995, and it's a lousy show in 1997. NBC has recycled garbage and gotten only new garbage to show for it. Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Ray Richmond Variety Any show starring the exquisitely daffy Tea Leoni deserves at least to be seen. But this comedy, while smart in its character-driven instincts, still has trouble matching the effortless charisma and breezy energy of its star. Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Caryn James New York Times Most of the changes are not improvements... Don't write The Naked Truth off yet, though. Next week's episode may not be hysterical, but it is promising and irreverent. Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Scott D. Pierce Deseret News (Salt Lake City) The wonderful, outrageous and decidedly off-kilter sense of humor that permeated The Naked Truth when it was on ABC has been somehow homogenized by the "Must-See TV" machine at NBC. This is a much more pedestrian sitcom than it used to be. Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Terry Kelleher People Magazine Though the material isn't yet worthy of the star, it's clear that NBC sees in Leoni a Lombardian gift for being simultaneously sexy and ridiculous.
