Melanie McFarland Salon.com Binging “The Pitt” allows us to remember that we’re watching one day, and one place, where a whole lot of short-sighted and greedy legislative decisions flock, leaving it to a group of dedicated people to patch up the victims -- us -- and keep going. Jun 25, 2025 Full Review Linda Holmes NPR All in all, it was a very sharp season of television with outstanding performances across the board. Apr 11, 2025 Full Review David Sims The Atlantic It’s already without question the finest example of the genre in more than a generation. Apr 1, 2025 Full Review Jan Lee The Straits Times (Singapore) With a stellar cast, its gritty, realistic look at the state of healthcare in America and a relentless pace, The Pitt is simultaneously heartfelt and brutal. Rated: 8/10 Aug 5, 2025 Full Review Denise Zubizarreta LatinaMedia.Co This show doesn’t just flirt with your worries – it drags your fears into a trauma bay, hooks them up to monitors, and lets them flatline right in front of you. Alex S I watched this over the space of a week, I had seen shorts and written it off as just another med drama. But loved every episode, characters are really engaging and it feels very real. Great show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/25 Full Review Ashton R. A bit too corny in parts, but quite good overall. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/23/25 Full Review Kim B I’ve never watched a med show, but thought I’d give this one a shot. So glad I did, it is amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Tom F Living up to the hype, mostly. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/25 Full Review Greg D Don't understand the love. It's got the gimmick from 24, but otherwise it's pretty tropey medical drama that's been done to death. Apart from some glamor shots of the city and some T-shirts, it didn't feel like Pittsburgh, and when you understand Pittsburgh, you can almost point people out on the street who grew up there. It's a definite choice to set the drama there, so it's frustrating how little it feels like, as I call it, "Burghsville USA." My complaint isn't so much about the realism, though I almost struck the TV in the first episode when they couldn't figure out that the vaguely Chinese-looking woman was from Nepal. Even poor hospitals can afford the sheets of sample sentences that help to identify the languages of foreign language speakers. It's mostly that the characters aren't interesting and fresh and the real-time gimmick works against developing any believable character arcs. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/15/25 Full Review Matt L The Pitt is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen — a masterclass in storytelling, character development, and atmosphere. Every episode felt deliberate, weaving layers of intensity, humanity, and moral complexity. The writing is razor-sharp, the pacing impeccable, and the performances nothing short of remarkable. The show excels at balancing raw emotion with high-stakes drama, allowing the audience to connect deeply with its characters while keeping them on edge through unexpected twists and nuanced moral conflicts. Visually, it’s stunning — moody cinematography and a haunting score that perfectly complement the tone. Few series manage to be this immersive; The Pitt stands out as one of the rare shows that lingers long after the credits roll. It’s intelligent, gripping, and emotionally resonant — truly one of the best television experiences I’ve had in years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/25 Full Review Read all reviews
