You might not want to spend time at The Pitt as a patient, but as entertainment, it’s one hell of a gripping show -- grounded, intense, and emotionally powerful.

What The Pitt does really well is work under its self-imposed restraints. The world never feels small, the characters never less than fully fleshed out. Go to Full Review

An astonishing achievement, full of granular detail and stellar performances... The Pitt doesn’t operate as a regular medical drama; more like a war movie in scrubs. It’s well worth the wait. Go to Full Review

Melissa M @RT60636173 1d I really wanted to watch this but gave up in the middle of the second episode when the preaching social commentary seemed more important than ER or any of the great medical shows since. House, the Resident, Doc etc, all manage to entertain without dialogue about social justice topics and self-righteousness. Not what ENTERTAINMENT is for. Save it for the awards shows. See more Ry N @RyGuy 2d This show follows Dr. Robby's chaotic 14-hour shift managing an ER in Pittsburgh. This is a high-octane medically accurate show like Scrubs with heavier drama and lighter comedy as each episode highlights another hour of the day. See more K K. @Whyyou 2d Excellent show. Sometimes it's hard to catch a breath with how much is happening, between badly injured patients, interpersonal conflict, timely situations, and the occasional, eerie quiet moment for reflection. There's extra enjoyment to be had from knowing that it makes those on the right stomp their little feet. I think it was pretty bold to center the main character's trauma around covid, given how selfish and dismissive some people were of it. This show, especially Season 2, is proof that if you want your show or movie to be successful, go woke. See more Richard B @Rboutside 3d Bear Pitt There is a seamless intensity that links seasons 1 of the Pitt to the Bear. The relentless pace, the intense drama, the marvellous cast, the detailed depiction of real life in an ER and a restaurant - it is as if they come from the same mother. Anchored by Noah Wylie, an ER veteran and helmed by show runner R. Scott Gemmill, the ER at the Pitt is one helluva indictment of American medicine, EXCEPT that the doctors are nurses are so knowledgeable, dedicated and human, it provides its own sick note. Please forgive them, they are trying their best. Outstanding. Season 2 better be half as good., See more sxylilvirgo S. @RT61336247 3d I love everything about this show, from the fast pace to the characters to the stress you feel from the staff and the patients. See more L. F @RT68678650 5d Overall I enjoyed the show. I cared about the characters, the actors were all great and the storylines kept my interest. You do have to suspend your disbelief somewhat that all these cases would've happened on the same day, but the fact the season all took place during one shift added intensity and an interesting pace to the show. Despite the small time frame, somehow it still managed to paint full lives for the characters and made them well rounded. The show was at it's strongest when it stayed away from the usual doctor stereotypes and tropes. See more Read all reviews
