Melanie McFarland Salon.com Binging “The Pitt” allows us to remember that we’re watching one day, and one place, where a whole lot of short-sighted and greedy legislative decisions flock, leaving it to a group of dedicated people to patch up the victims -- us -- and keep going. Jun 25, 2025 Full Review Linda Holmes NPR All in all, it was a very sharp season of television with outstanding performances across the board. Apr 11, 2025 Full Review David Sims The Atlantic It’s already without question the finest example of the genre in more than a generation. Apr 1, 2025 Full Review Kathryn Reklis The Christian Century ...there was something profoundly comforting about watching a group of highly skilled adults recall an astonishing array of expert knowledge directed toward saving lives. Jul 8, 2025 Full Review Kevin Fallon The Daily Beast The Pitt’s conceit, where each episode chronicles one hour of Robby’s 15-hour shift, compounded with streaming’s allowance for more graphic content, lends the series an intensity that even trumps ER’s, if possible. Jun 11, 2025 Full Review Brian Farvour The Playlist “The Pitt” stands out entirely independently, separate from its pseudo-ancestor in “ER” and as a bonafide triumph in storytelling, chemistry and television. W. Scott S Best single season of any medical drama I can remember watching. And I've watched a bunch. Loved this show from beginning to end. It was a little more raw and showed more than most. So I think that added to the realism and the raw emotion. Noah Wyle is great and so is the rest of the cast. Looking forward to seasons to come and rooting for Emmy wins. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Alexander L Stellar cast. Intense storylines. I particularly enjoyed that the entire season was one shift. So real and raw. Highly recommend. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Shannon M I just finished the entire first season a few mins ago. Both of my kids were new nurses when they ran into the fire that was Covid in 2020, and I worked in an ER before my husband was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma and passed from it, and from everything we’ve seen, this is the most realistic medical show I’ve ever watched. Ever. Noah Wylie and the rest of the cast are completely amazing and I hope we get many more seasons to come AND that they’re all as amazingly great as this first season. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt something like this from a tv show so thank you Noah Wylie and the rest of the producers and writers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/25 Full Review Ulysse M A refreshing, unique and realistic take on the genre, the acting is amazing, characters perfectly written, and the pacing is perfect. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/25 Full Review Paul S Best medical series in a long time, riveting to watch. So far best TV series I've seen this year. It is somewhat over the top. I agree it's probably the most medically accurate when it comes to the treatments, it's just that just about every problem possible occurs within the one shift. Doesn't matter though all adds up to a hell of a good watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/09/25 Full Review Manuel G I read an article that mentioned this show was getting rave reviews and noticed it featured Noah Wyle so I thought I would give it a shot. As much as I tried, I could not get passed the second episode. I was in college when ER aired and all students majoring in biosci would watch it as I did. I loved ER. All the things that made the show great, The Pitt fails miserably. The characters are too sensitive or defensive. The show focuses so much time on the medical staff but there isn't any depth to any of the characters. ER had a nice balance which made us feel empathy for not only the medical staff but the patients as well. The Pitt feels very formulaic so you can predict what will happen next. There are no surprises like in ER. I am really surprised that this show is getting a second season. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Read all reviews
