Will Geiger

Will Geiger began his career as a director while attending Orange Coast College, a small school in Costa Mesa, California, where he majored in film and video production. While attending the school, he began writing and directing short films. Geiger expanded one of these short films into the feature-length "Ocean Tribe," a picaresque comedy-drama about four school friends who take their leukemia-stricken buddy Bob (Vaughn Roberts) from central California to the Mexican coast so he can go on one final surfing holiday before he dies. Though the low budget film played the worldwide festival circuit, it ended up gaining theatrical release only in Japan, Germany and a handful of other countries. Following the 2001 short "Red Man," a drama about an elderly Native American waiting for the release of death, Geiger wrote and directed his second feature, the quirky romantic fantasy "Elvis and Annabelle," starring Max Minghella as a mortuary assistant whose life is changed when a dead teenage beauty queen (Blake Lively) comes back to life on his embalming table. This film also never made it past the festival circuit, though it screened on cable television and received a DVD release in 2010. Geiger's next project was another straight to DVD release, "Free Willy: Escape From Pirate's Cove." The fourth film in the popular family franchise, it starred pre-teen reality television presenter Bindi Irwin in her acting debut.
