Abbie Hoffman was an actor who graced the silver screen many times throughout his career. Hoffman's early acting career mostly consisted of roles in various films, such as "Breathing Together: Revolution of the Electric Family" (1971), "Chords of Fame" (1984) and the documentary "Bread and Puppet Theatre: A Song For Nicaragua" (1986) with Father Uriel Molina. He had a part on the television special "Sgt. Pepper: It Was Twenty Years Ago Today" (1987-88). He kept working in film throughout the eighties, starring in the David Amram documentary "The Beat Generation - An American Dream" (1987), the Tom Cruise biographical drama "Born on the Fourth of July" (1989) and "Growing Up in America" (1989). He also appeared in "Heavy Petting" (1989) with David Byrne. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "My Dinner With Abbie" (1990) and "The Life and Times of Allen Ginsberg" (1994). Hoffman also acted in "Children of the Revolution."
