Adrian Alonso
Blessed with a sweet and ingenuous quality, Adrian Alonso was sought after for television roles by the tender age of 8, when he made his debut in the 2003 Mexican series "El alma herida." This brought Alonso to the attention of Mexican filmmaker Luis Mandoki, who cast him in a starring role in the 2004 drama "Innocent Voices," set against the turmoil of the 1980s conflict in El Salvador. Once again, Alonso made an impression and won the coveted role of Joaquin de la Vega in the Hollywood production of "The Legend of Zorro," a sequel to the 1998 hit "The Mask of Zorro." With stars Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones reprising their roles from the earlier film, Alonso co-starred as the son of Alejandro de la Vega (Banderas), who is unaware of his father's secret identity as Zorro, yet ultimately succeeds in restoring the hero to his family. Alonso did not speak English at the beginning of filming, but the young actor rapidly made strides in his new language. Alonso followed this with a recurring role in the popular long-running Mexican series "Mujer, casos de la vida real." In 2006, Alonso appeared in the feature "I Love Miami," capitalizing on his physical similarity to troubled immigrant Elián González in this story of Cuban exiles. While Alonso continued appearing in television series, in 2011 he played the starring role in the coming of age film "La Leyenda del Tesoro."
