A secret society, the Knights of Aragon, seeks to keep the United States from achieving manifest destiny -- and only the legendary Zorro (Antonio Banderas) can stop them. Unfortunately, Zorro, also known as Don Alejandro de la Vega, has problems of his own: His wife, Elena (Catherine Zeta-Jones), is divorcing him for spending too much time pursuing heroics and not enough being a father to their young son. But it isn't long before the whole family gets caught up in stopping the Knights.

That opening, alas, is the only time The Legend of Zorro hits, and keeps, its stride. Campbell moves the picture in fits and starts, elongating scenes we'd rather see cut short and ending others before they even have a chance to develop.

Happy 18 year anniversary One of my favorite movies is a perfect Halloween movie to watch it was funny action pack very relatable all about family and it's OK to be who you are to show that your family and your friends you don't have to hide who you are be yourself because they're going to be excepting it was very emotional to I love zorro equality as first one 5 star 💫 ⭐️ 💫 🌟 ⭐️ Movie Antonio banderas never disappoints me everytime I see in a movie he makes zorro and zorro makes him and Catherine zeta jones makes movies as well for me adrian alonso barona he made the movie for me as well doing the fighting makes his emotions very real and believable care for zorro and for his dad and mom just like if that was his real family I love that he was awesome amazing this movie for me was awesome amazing I will buy this movie 5 star ⭐️ 💫 💫 ⭐️ ⭐️ movie

Such a disappointment. As a fan of The Mask of Zorro, I was expecting the same level of thrill and intrigue. Unfortunately, The Legend of Zorro felt like a watered-down version of its predecessor. I do not know if it was because the studio was aiming for a PG rating or something more family-friendly, but the result was too cartoonish and cheap. The dialogue was overacted, performances were overdramatic and most of the scenes could have been picked out of a daily soap opera. The addition of the child was unnecessary, annoying, and distracted from the other characters. Ultimately, there was nothing special about The Legend of Zorro, which is disappointing because of the greatness of the first film.

Let's keep in mind this is PG, so park your pretentious anlysis elsewhere. That being said, not a fan of the couple squabble between Zorro and spouse. This vehicle is not as intriguing as that of the first film. Serviceable but nothing to write home about
