Alan Crosland
Best known for directing two sound barrier-breaking films; "Don Juan" (1926), with synchronized music, and "The Jazz Singer" (1927), the first "talkie." Married to silent screen leading lady Elaine Hammerstein, whom he directed in several films, and father of director-editor Alan Crosland Jr.
