After attending Barnard College, television producer and writer Alexa Junge started her career as a writer and creative consultant on the 1991 teen comedy series "Clarissa Explains It All," starring Melissa Joan Hart. Her next big break was in '94, when she joined the creative team behind the hit sitcom "Friends" in the roles of writer, executive story editor, and co-executive producer. During her five-year run on the popular series, Junge received her first Emmy nominations. Following three episodes of the family drama "Once and Again" as a writer , Junge was brought onto NBC's acclaimed series "The West Wing" during the show's 2003 season, where she earned another Emmy as a writer and supervising producer. Her work as writer, executive producer, and creative consultant on the stylish comedy/drama "Sex and the City" prepared her for the subsequent HBO drama "Big Love," where she served primarily as a co-executive producer. In '09, Junge joined the writing and production team behind Diablo Cody's darkly comedic Showtime series, "United States of Tara," starring Toni Collette.
