Anne Schedeen, who is remembered most for her role on the extraterrestrial sitcom "ALF," spent most of the 1970s and 1980s popping up in a wide gamut of prime time television shows. After appearing in one-off roles in classic sci-fi shows like "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Incredible Hulk" as well as the hit sitcom "Cheers," she got her early break in 1984 with the role of attorney Sara Frank on the prime-time soap opera "Paper Dolls." Though that series lasted for only 13 episodes, she quickly landed more one-off parts on other classic 1980s shows, including the mystery show "Murder, She Wrote" and the detective dramedy "Magnum, P.I.." Her biggest role came in "ALF," where she portrayed Kate Tanner, the matriarch of the household that takes in the cat-hungry alien of the title. ALF's 100-plus-episode run lasted from 1986 to 1990, after which she appeared in a few television movies and capped off her on-screen career with a detective role in a three-episode arc on "Judging Amy" in 2001.
