Baburao Pendharkar
Considered the father of Indian cinema. Via his Maharashtra Film Company (founded 1919), Baburao produced many early Indian films, a number of which ("Sharashandri" 1921) he also directed. He later focused more on directing ("Wishwamitra" 1952) and acting, and became a respected and versatile character actor.
