American musician Brian Welch, also known by his stage name Head in the metal band Korn, was born in Bakersfield, California. His interest in music started at an early age, and he took up the guitar at 10 years old, dedicating himself to learning the instrument. He went on to join the band Korn in 1993, and over the course of a decade the group became one of the top-selling nu metal bands of their time, selling out arenas. During the late 1990s to early 2000s, Welch had children and went through a divorce, which exacerbated the stress of touring and issues with addiction. These events eventually led to his departure from the band in 2005, as he looked to religion for support. Welch spent the next years working on philanthropy projects and his own solo work, releasing albums of his own under his own name and the band Love and Death. In 2013, he rejoined Korn. Welch has since appeared in the film "Loud Krazy Love" (2021), about his life journey, and the television series "Bigger" (BET+, 2019-21), "Killing It" (Peacock, 2022-23), and "Games People Play" (BET Networks, 2019-2022).
