Carnie Wilson
One of two daughters born to Brian Wilson, the tormented musical genius of the '60s supergroup, the Beach Boys, Carnie Wilson achieved pop stardom in the 1990s as the heftier arm of the vocal trio Wilson Phillips - an extremely popular soft pop group which also featured her sister Wendy and childhood friend, Chynna Phillips, daughter of John and Michelle (The Mamas and the Papas) Phillips. After the band cooled down, Wilson would go on to achieve a second fame of sorts by going public with her struggles with weight - a battle which included stints on the popular "Celebrity Fit Club" (VH1, 2005-10) and a gastric bypass operation that she allowed broadcast on the internet. This willingness to share her personal issues not only endeared her to the general public, but allowed her to continue making music and exploring other career venues, including actress, author, and talk show host.
