Denis O'Brien
International lawyer and banker and former business manager for George Harrison who formed HandMade Films with the ex-Beatle in 1978. The successful production and distribution company has been responsible for a number of quality films, many with a typically English stamp; acclaimed HandMade products include several "Monty Python" films, beginning with "Life of Brian" (1979), Neil Jordan's "Mona Lisa" (1986) and Bruce Robinson's "Withnail & I" (1986). Denis O'Brien died on December 3, 2021 in Swindon, United Kingdom at the age of 80.
