Diana Körner
Diana Koerner is a German actress who is likely only familiar to English-speaking audiences for her role as the German girl "Lischen" in Stanley Kubrick's 1975 romance epic, "Barry Lyndon." Koerner began her career on screen in 1967, with a starring role in a German TV movie drama, and a key supporting role in the big screen horror film, "Creature with the Blue Hand," which starred notorious German actor Klaus Kinski, prior to his illustrious collaboration with director Werner Herzog. Through the 1970s, '80s, and '90s, Koerner had recurring roles on a number of comedies and crime dramas on TV, all leading up to her co-leading part on the German soap "Samt und Seide" (Velvet and Silk), where she appeared as Hedda Althofer for 100 episodes, from 2000 to 2005. Koerner's first child, Lara-Joy Koerner, followed in her mother's footsteps as an actress, and the two appeared together in an episode of the Munich police investigator crime series "Derrick" in 1996, the last of the elder Koerner's five appearances on the show. Koerner's second husband, the Austrian actor Werner Kreindl, was also an actor. It's turned out that Koerner's appearance in the multiple Oscar-winning, English language "Barry Lyndon," which starred Ryan O'Neal in the title role, was a one-time affair; she has continued to build up a prolific resume, primarily in television, over the next few decades in German productions.
