Donovan W. Carter
Donovan Carter's path to his career had some major twists and turns throughout. As a child in the 1990s, Carter first took to acting, appearing in a few productions, including a stage version of "To Kill A Mockingbird" when he was 8 years old. But just as his child acting career might have taken off, Carter transitioned to playing football and baseball. Football ended up winning out, and that carried Carter to UCLA on a scholarship. After a successful collegiate career, Carter was eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft. However, all seven rounds of the draft went by and his name was never called. Outside of a brief stint in the Oakland Raiders' minicamp that year, he never cracked the code of the NFL. Crestfallen, he spent the better part of two years trying to figure out what to do now. He ultimately settled on acting, and soon after, he was cast in the Dwayne Johnson-starring "Ballers" (HBO 2015- ), where he coincidentally played fictional NFL player Vernon Littlefield. His next role was in the football-themed short "Scrimmage" (2017) that was funded on Indiegogo.
