Ed Ames
Ed Ames, born on July 9, 1927, in Malden, Massachusetts, began his career as part of the popular 1950s singing group, The Ames Brothers, whose hits like "Rag Mop" made them a household name. After the group disbanded, Ames transitioned into acting, gaining widespread recognition for his role as Mingo on "Daniel Boone" (NBC, 1964-1970). Ames continued to appear on television throughout the years, like "The Marshal" (ABC, 1995), and "Pioneers of Television" (PBS, 2008-2019). In addition to his TV career, Ames also pursued a solo music career, releasing hits like "My Cup Runneth Over" in the 1960s. He remained active in entertainment, making occasional appearances in television specials and stage productions until his passing in May 2023, at age of 95.
