Edwin Carewe
With many years under his belt, Edwin Carewe emerged as a top directing talent over the course of his Hollywood career. Carewe received his start directing independent films, including early work on "I Am the Law" (1922) and the drama "Ramona" (1928) with Dolores Del Rio. He stuck to film in the twenties and the thirties, heading credits such as "Revenge" (1928) and the western "The Spoilers" (1930) with Gary Cooper. Later in his career, Carewe directed "Resurrection" (1931). Carewe passed away in January 1940 at the age of 57.
